IV. PICK UP AND DELIVERY OF CHILDREN
No child is to be brought to the school before 7:00 AM, nor picked up after 6:00 PM. There is a car lane designated for dropping off and picking up. Please be mindful of the other parents in the line by walking your child in and out of the school safely and in a timely manner. Please do not enter the building before 7:00 am
We ask that you sign your child in and out each day on our attendance roster. We will release your child to the adults that you deem appropriate in writing on your enrollment form. We will ask for photo ID from any adult we do not recognize, so please inform family members to expect to be asked for their driver’s license. Help us stay prepared by informing us in advance if you expect a change in your routine.
If you are late PLEASE CALL US so that we may make arrangements with our own family to stay after hours. If your child is left beyond our 6:00 PM closing time, a baby-sitting fee of $5.00 every ten minutes will be assessed and collected by the waiting staff.

V PROGRAM
It is the philosophy of this preschool that early childhood should be a time of fun, warmth, security, exploring and discovery. Preschool children are receptive to new information, and search for an outlet for their creativity. Our program nurtures these qualities.
Our purpose is to provide an atmosphere encouraging social, emotional, physical, and intellectual growth and development of the child as a whole.
In accordance with our philosophy and purpose, the curriculum includes sharing and conversation time; stories, songs and finger plays; creative art activities; food preparation; science and nature activities; exposure to shapes, colors, numbers and letters; and celebration of birthdays and holidays.
More specific information concerning the program your child or children are involved in will be relayed as you tour our facility.

VI FEES
The current tuition schedule is available to you. The fee schedule lists monthly and weekly payments for full and part time students. Tuition is to be paid in advance each month, or at the beginning of the week. Because tuition is based on a calendar year and takes into consideration the few days we are closed, there will be no credit given for the months including a scheduled holiday, an illness, or vacation beyond one week. .
The first tuition payment is due on your child/ren’s first day, as well as one week of tuition to be held as a deposit. The deposit payment will be applied to your final tuition payment. You will be given a tuition information and fee agreement, which will further outline these points.

VII ILLNESS
A sick child is to be kept at home. The wellness of all the children and staff at the school is jeopardized when a sick child is brought to school. It is beneficial for you to establish a back-up caregiver for the days when your child cannot come to school. Many communicable diseases start with cold like symptoms. If at any time the staff feels your child is too sick to remain in the classroom, we will call you and expect you or another adult whom you designate to promptly pick your child up. We do not offer sick care. If any of the following conditions exist, you will receive a phone call from the school requesting you pick up your child immediately:
– A temperature of 100 degrees or more
– Contagious diseases, not exclusive of chicken pox, measles, mumps, roseola
– Vomiting or diarrhea
– Impetigo, lice or ringworm until treated for 24 hours
– Severe cold with fever, coughing, sneezing, runny nose.
-Any type of throat infection until treated for 24 hours.

Please keep the staff aware of any illness your child may be experiencing to enable the staff to better care for your child as well as maintain the health of the other children at the school.

VIII MEDICATION
Hey Diddle Diddle Day School Inc. will administer medication on an emergency basis only. If it is necessary for your child to take a prescription drug please ask your doctor for a schedule that would enable you to administer the medicine while the child is at home. If that is impossible then we require:
1. Written instructions from the physician, which includes the date, name of the patient, name of the medication, the dosage and time, as well as the ailment requiring the medication.
2. The medication must be labeled clearly with your child’s name.
3. Please hand the medication to your child’s teacher.
4. Lastly, you must sign the medication log.

IX DRESS
Children are encouraged to wear play clothes and comfortable closed toed shoes. Daily activities include active and messy play, and we do not wish the children to be hindered due to their apparel. We ask a change of clothes be kept at the school to keep us prepared for the unexpected. To ensure the return of all clothing items to the proper owner, please write the child’s name inside the garment.

IVX EMERGENCY PLAN
This school has a written emergency plan for in house as well as outside emergencies. A copy is kept in every classroom and reviewed annually by all staff members. If a change should be made to said plan the families we serve would be notified in writing.
In the case of a medical emergency, the staff will call 911 and the parents will be notified immediately. If a parent cannot be reached the emergency contact person listed on the emergency contact form will be called.

X MANDATED REPORTING
As an operating school in the state of Pennsylvania, the staff members are mandated reporters of suspected child abuse according to the Child Protective Service Act 124. The purpose of this Act is to protect children from abuse, to ensure their opportunity for healthy growth and development and whenever possible to preserve and stabilize family life. Our staff members are trained to identify signs of possible abuse or neglect. When we see those signs we are required to report suspected cases of child abuse to Childline. This call is followed by a written report (CY-47) within 48 hours by the Montgomery County Office of Children and Youth. We are required to cooperate with the Montgomery County Office of Children and Youth, but do so because we care about the children we serve. We are committed to the safety and well-being of each child.
